I was thinking of lights. Bright, shining beacons of safety. Hope. Destination. Sometimes they’re right on the shore, helping ships and people who’ve lost their way to land safely. Sometimes it’s a person, one who helps us in times of need (or is just always there, reassuring and full of love). Sometimes it’s a friend, like this wonderful pale Arabian my friend has, whose name is Suki. We’re all full of light, but do we let it shine so others can see it? Are we guides in the darkness of this world? Inspirations?
Dawn comes and the sun blazes a path for the day. No turning back once its up. Even though we don’t see it for part of the daily cycle, it’s still there. Burning and on fire for the rest of the world to see. Never-ending light. Jesus Christ is like that. Eternal light.
He gives it to you and me. Fills us with it if we ask Him to. Makes a fire inside us that is also never-ending. You can tell when someone has it, it radiates from them like those beacons in the night. A little light of hope and safety if you need it.
What are you on fire for today? What lights you up?
