Airports to me are one thing. Well, OK, two. The start of an adventure and UTTER CHAOS! Every time I’m in the security line, I tell myself to remember to sign up for TSA PreCheck. No line there. No jackets, shoes, belts or jewelry to remove. Enter your number and welcome to the other side of security. Easy, right?
The “easy” part is pre-registration and getting an appointment online. The hard part was finding out that the site doesn’t tell you that you need to get a gate pass from “Special Services” in Delta terminal. (which is understaffed, under construction, and mobbed with about a few thousand people who don’t know where they’re going or what paperwork they need to get there…) That line alone was about 30 people long. Then you get to go through “regular” security too…the fun goes on!
The only saving grace was a wonderful older lady who was in front of me in the “special” line. She and her husband were on their way home from a cruise and she had an air of relaxation and calm about her that steadied my nerves. She said she’d wait in line to ask the questions, because her husband had an “anger” issue and got impatient easily. She sent him off to the bench with their bags and gave him the Kindle. That made me smile. Knowing that she knew exactly what he needed kinda reminded me about how God sees us all. He knows what we can handle…even if we think we can’t. 🙂 See, inspiration is all around us, even in the airport! LOL. I hope she has an easy flight home.
Hey, you know me. I’m not grousing much. I’m blessed to be able to travel and live in a place that is still somewhat free. It’s just really is a shame that the agenda of some made air travel such a pain for so many. Trust after all is a fragile thing, isn’t it? Thank God it’s easier to have faith in Him (which fixes everything) than to catch a plane or two in this world. 🙂
Sigh. After the last couple of hours, all I can think of is a coffeebreak…. 🙂 I’m feeling much better, and hopefully I’ll pass the background checks and be approved. Fingers crossed.
I hope today is flying by for you and that you’re getting some time to chill out and take a breath! Be well and be blessed, wherever you make your roost today!
Much love to you and the fam! I’ll chat with you more tomorrow…. XO
I can see you smiling…my face hurts from mine 🙂 It fits the mood, for sure!
