Searching. Seems I’m always on the move for something. Not always something you have to purchase, but something. Lots of times it’s an intangible thing, like a smell or a feeling. (triggered usually by an object, place, or situation-weird how those things are usually linked together…) Often it’s an actual item that I’m thinking I’ve lost. Rarer gems are those moments that I’d love to recapture-even if it’s a brief passing second…those are the toughies.

This tidepool is one of those moments. Looking at it I can still hear the sound of the small waves at lowest tide. The whisper of the breeze on my face. The smell of the air, like seaweedy rotten stuff. Taking a moment to hunt for shells and jewels usually covered by water. Those little bits of shine and beauty left out for someone to discover. Even if they don’t get noticed, they still radiate a quiet elegance all their own. They are what they are, just like each of us.

I loved that afternoon…just me, the camera, and the piece uncovered near the ocean.

Heaven may be one of those places we don’t get to see until it’s time. I’m not worried though, because right here on this planet, He leaves little bits of it for us to enjoy right now. To inspire us. Give us hope. Build our faith in something more than the tangible stuff of this place. Keep your eyes open, stay in the moment. Don’t be afraid to search outside your comfort zone. You probably will be awestruck by what you find. Even more surprising is that the magic in the moment is usually right where you are, no travel required. So what are you waiting for? 🙂
